Whether you are trying to relieve some aches & pains, maintain optimum health, or simply want to relax, JBR Massage can help!

Our therapists are trained in a variety of techniques that can be used to meet your specific needs. Sessions are typically therapeutic in focus, which means that we strive to relieve restrictions in your muscles and connective tissues - while staying in your comfort zone for depth of pressure. Some people prefer very deep work, while others simply want to relax. We are here to meet YOUR needs and will tailor each session accordingly.
TYPES OF MASSAGE
Swedish Massage - Traditional European-style massage used to promote relaxation, relieve muscle tension and increase circulation. Pressure can range from very gentle to deep, depending on your preference.
Deep Tissue/Myofascial Release - Utilizes deeper pressure and slow, penetrating movements to soften and stretch fascia (connective tissue that encases the muscles and all of the body's organs). Freeing fascial restrictions can help muscles resume their normal resting length and increase range of motion.
Trigger Point - Trigger points are hyper-irritable spots within tight bands of muscle that often refer pain to other parts of the body. Trigger points can cause stiffness and weakness in the involved muscle(s), and can contribute to chronic headaches, neck pain, and back pain. Trigger point therapy uses sustained pressure to release the restriction. Since these points are often very tender, pressure is applied according to your tolerance level.
Sports Massage - Sports massage can help you prepare for an athletic event, keep your muscles healthy and injury-free during training, and recover more quickly after strenuous activity. Sports techniques vary based on the needs of the athlete and type of sport, but generally involve moderate to deep pressure and stretching to relieve muscle tension and restrictions.
Pregnancy Massage - Addresses the specific issues associated with pregnancy. Massage during pregnancy can increase blood and lymph circulation; relieve muscle spasms, cramps and myofascial pain; reduce stress; and create a nurturing space to enable a pregnant woman to translate feelings of physical and emotional well-being to her unborn child. Sessions are typically done in a side-lying position and special precautions are taken to ensure a safe massage environment for both mother and baby.
Reflexology - Reflexology is based on the theory that reflex zones on the feet, hands and ears correspond to organs and regions of the body. Massage to these points can improve circulation, eliminate toxins, and reduce stress.
Craniosacral Therapy - Consists of very light manipulation of the joints of the skull and meninges (protective coverings) of the brain. This is done to alter the flow of cerebrospinal fluid around the brain and throughout the vertebral column to reduce chronic pain and other ailments.
Shiatsu - A Japanese form of bodywork that incorporates stretching and pressure along energetic pathways (meridians) to balance the body's vital energy, or chi. It is a very relaxing and centering form of massage. Shiatsu is typically performed on the floor using mats, with the recipient wearing loose, comfortable clothing.
Reiki - Reiki involves the gentle, subtle laying of hands to facilitate the movement of universal life energy throughout the body. This helps to relieve physical, emotional and spiritual blockages. The treatment is performed with the recipient wearing loose, comfortable clothing.
Chair Massage - Chair massage sessions are typically shorter in length (10 to 30 minutes), and performed with the recipient seated in a specially designed portable massage chair. These sessions are often done in a corporate or event setting with the recipient clothed, and generally focus on the head, neck, shoulders and arms.
